Diversity is a cornerstone of innovation: ETNO joins #Digital4Her event

Brussels, 19 June 2018 – ETNO, the Association representing Europe’s leading telecom operators, has joined today Commissioner Mariya Gabriel and industry leaders in their effort to advocate for including more women in digital sectors. A senior delegation of ETNO, including Proximus’ CEO Dominique Leroy and ETNO’s Director General Lise Fuhr, took part into the VIP discussion at the #Digital4Her event.

In a joint note, the group outlined 5 principles for advocating and promoting gender equality in the tech and digital sphere. The signatories stressed how “diversity brings about greater creativity and innovation that is reflected in the companies' business performance”. In this context, they called for all to “adopt a hands-on approach to close the digital gender divide in skills, inception of technologies, access and career opportunities”.
