The European Commission's State of Heath in the EU Companion Report 2019 discusses challenges and opportunities presented by new digital technology.
Smart technology, like wearable devices that are being used for health promotion and disease prevention are often not accessible to those who need them most. New digital ideas also have other challenges that need to be addressed, like privacy, data ownership and training health staff on the possibilities and limitations of digital tools.
