Digital Economy and Consumers
As sectors converge with advances in digital technologies, and broadband becomes more and more mass market, telecommunication operators and other market players are increasingly involved in broader Information Society issues, on top of the mere connectivity layer. This Working Group (WG) aims to proactively foster the creation of a leading e-society in Europe which supports the development of innovative applications, content and services, while fully recognising the role and importance of the production, dissemination and use of information technologies.
The objective of the WG activities should be to highlight the interests, capabilities and achievements of the industry, promote a market-oriented approach and minimise regulatory intervention, taking into account the wider societal interests and values and the new market reality.
