The role of tech in the EU's cancer plan

 
On World Cancer Day, 4 February, EU officials met with healthcare professionals and advocates at the European Commission to announce the launch of  'Europe's Beating Cancer' plan by the end of 2020.

The plan would include increasing investment in medical technology, which Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen said 'Horizon Europe' could contribute to the development of. Additionally, AI's role in early detection measures were highlighted.

What are the next big trends for telcos on a 5-year horizon? How can the sector lead on sustainability?

Helmut Reisinger, CEO Orange Business Services, considers that "the purpose" will have an impact on how businesses position themselves: "The millennials, the young generation, are asking “what is the purpose?”. So, I think if we take into account these facts together with the stakeholders, meaning the European Commission and the in-country regulators, but also we, as operators and economic players in this, we should be up to really give better digital services."
