ETNO’S PRIVACY STATEMENT: A GUIDE TO YOUR DATA RIGHTS


ETNO is a European trade association. Our legal seat is in Brussels and we are an international non-profit association (AISBL/IVZW). ETNO values the protection and confidentiality of your personal data. We have invested and keep on investing to ensure that your personal information is respected and protected.

Therefore, we take several steps to comply with applicable data privacy legislation in regards to the processing personal data. More in specific, we are proud to comply with the legal obligations foreseen in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (European General Data Protection Regulation). Here, our Privacy Statement provides you with a clear and concise guide to staying in control of your data when using ETNO’s website, newsletters and when interacting with us as a member, observer or guest to our events and meetings.

As of the last update to this page, the following types of service providers might be involved in our activities: IT service provider; catering and conference services; communications consultant supporting on the delivery of our public newsletters, website agency.

ETNO aisbl considers personal data as confidential information. The personal data collected may be processed manually or automatically by authorised employees of the Association.

We may enter in contact with you for several purposes. By attending to events or subscribing to our newsletters, ETNO informs you that we might need to store and process your personal data (such as your name, surname, professional address, telephone number or e-mail address) and you are asked to explicitly confirm that you are interested in ETNO aisbl’s activities or information. You therefore voluntarily provide ETNO aisbl with your personal data so that they can be processed to allow the Association to carry out its activities – in accordance with the current law.

ETNO aisbl may record some personal data such as your name, surname, professional address, telephone number or e-mail address.

ETNO aisbl will not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease any personal information collected online or offline to third-parties. All information shall be kept absolutely confidential, unless the owner provides consent. ETNO aisbl will not share your personal information with others unless it is required by law or by judicial or administrative authorities.

ETNO aisbl uses secure data networks that are protected by firewall and password protection systems that are consistent with industry standards.

ETNO aisbl’s security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary.

Our database is located within the European Union.

Your data are only processed for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was gathered.

# Getting in control of your data and Opt out options

You can withdraw your agreement to ETNO treating your personal data at any time. Should you wish to stop receiving emails or updates from ETNO aisbl, you may do so by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any email. Alternatively, please email us at privacy@etno.eu.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information ETNO aisbl has about you. You have, at any time, the right of access, modification, correction and removal of your data collected in our database. You can request this by contacting ETNO aisbl by email at privacy@etno.eu.

# Breach

In the case of a data breach, ETNO aisbl will report this to the Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours. If this security breach is likely to result in a high privacy risk for individuals, than these individuals will also be informed of the breach.

# Children's Privacy

Our activities do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

We may change or update this Statement. These terms of use are effective from 25 May 2018.
